“Paolo Pellegrin. An anthology.” is a retrospective exhibition covering Paolo Pellegrin’s entire body of work. The exhibition is conceived as an immersive journey into two opposites: light and darkness. The exhibition tells two stories: on one hand the fragility of the human condition, the madness of war, the pain and at the same time the strength, the hope that emerge even in the most critical situations; on the other, a suffering planet but also the beauty and majesty of nature.

The relationship between content and space is extremely important. The strong characterization of the gallery becomes a source of inspiration for the exhibition. The exhibition takes place along a path that winds around a central space. The path, immersed in darkness, leads to the central space of the museum which, however, is white and bright. Nature is the key. A spiral structure at the center of the room acts as a hinge around which the composition is arranged. Inside it houses the “thought” space, a composition of notes, books, maquettes, photographs that reveal the creative process underlying the photographer’s work.

The triangular central element is inspired by Caspar David Friedrich’s 1823 masterpiece: “The Wreck of Hope”. Incredibly, Caspar David Friedrich’s shipwreck of hope is a melting glacier.
